David Lynch hyllnings-konsert!
David Lynch Tribute Concert.
’With a love for the twisted and mysterious the band SPEkTR pays homage to David Lynch and, his long-time collaborator, composer Angelo Badalamenti in an atmospheric concert with accompanying images from Lynch’s films.
The band, with their own music, creates an atmospheric soundscape with shadows and lights, beauty and the unpleasant. They are the sound of a forgotten and lost space probe, found in a distant galaxy, and are now united with the music of Twin Peaks and David Lynch’s movie opus. With a palette of music from the series and accompanying images from Twin Peaks and lynch’s film oeuvre, a gripping, dark and imaginative universe is created.
The film-loving sound artists have been active on the music scene for more than fifteen years, and with them are the singers Emma Acs and Mette Lindberg, as well as the bassist AC.
The band consists of the composer and guitarist Manoj Ramdas’ (Black Sol, The Raveonette) heart project, created with Henrik Madsen (Emma Acs), Lasse Herbst (Fallulah) and Ida Rud.
SPEkTR calls itself ”the sound of a forgotten and lost space probe found in a distant galaxy, related to Angelo Badalamenti and David Lynch through a common love of the crooked and mysterious.”
Since January, the cinema has counted down to David Lynch’s very long-awaited ’Twin Peaks’ and on May 24th, we splurge with a tribute concert to, not only the television series universe (carried by Angelo Badalamenti’s simple yet unbeatable crooked compositions), but also ’Blue Velvet’ and other tunes that have been more than just soundtracks for Lynch’s works. Behind the instruments is the rock quartet SPEkTR, which has been active on the music scene for more than 15 years, consisting of composer and guitarist Manoj Ramdas (Black Sol, The Raveonettes) flanked by Henrik Madsen, Lasse Herbst and Ida Rud. It is far from the first time that the film-loving sound artists make music for live images. In the past, they have created live audio pages for movies like ’The Priest and the Concyline’ and ’From Morning to Midnight’ by integrating improvisation, new material and own back catalog. Expect both guitar pedal and synths when SPEkTR paints soundscapes with shadows and lights.
